"It's a show of bravery to attempt Fiano in California because it hasn't been tried successfully very often.  Oak Farm pulls it off, however, capturing some of the richness and length that is typical of Fiano grown in the Campania region of southern Italy.  A platinum award-winner at the 2018 Critics Challenge International Wine & Spirits Competition."

Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
This southern Italian Variety contains aromas of melons and buttered pecans. It is fresh on the palate with vibrant notes of seastone and a tangy finish. Fiano pairs amazing with seafood.

Vineyard Notes
These grapes are grown by Enver and Joe Salman in Clarksburg. Located right along the Sacrmamento river, the cool evenings, warm days and rich soils provide a spectacular environment for this Italian white to grow. Originally, this grape finds it’s origins in the Campania region of Southern Italy. It’s berries are small, and relatively thick skinned with lower juice yields, but this potentially adds more complexity to the flavor.
Winemaker Notes
Grapes were hand-picked in the morning and gently whole cluster pressed to a temperature controlled stainless steel tank. Next, the juice was racked and fermented cold in a stainless steel tank. After a long fermentation, the wine was transferred to neutral oak barrels for a short aging period.
